Lochgelly North currently has two projects running - an Art project and a project called My Body.
The Art project has been looking at the work of Scottish Artist Gary Anderson, and in particular his
piece "A Maori and his Tongue". We are using a variety of media such as paint, face paint, clay and photography. The My Body class has seen the young people involved in making a heart, lungs and stomach and also
making various items of clothing using a variety of materials. Lochgelly South's project is a media project filming gymnastics, dance and comedy. This is a lunchtime
project with rehearsals one week and filming "their" turn the next. St Kenneth's - it's great to be back here! This project is a lunchtime club involving P7 pupils.
The theme this time was Christmas crafts and we were up to our ears in glue and glitter - driving ourselves "crackers"!

September's monthly meeting was a really enjoyable time. We moved away from (what has become a tradition)
having an entertainer and invited Caroline Gallacher to lead us in an "Arts" afternoon. We painted and chatted
and exclaimed over each others' work. October's meeting was an intergenerational outing with Benarty Primary School. On our way to Anstruther's
Fisheries Museum, we had a singsong in the bus (both groups taking turns in singing their favourite songs). The museum was a really exciting place for the young people as there was lots to explore. For the elderly,
it was a place of reminiscence and a chance to exchange memories with each other. Both the elderly and
the young people really enjoy their time together. The Christmas outing was a trio of delights. We had an intergenerational day beginning with a bus journey across
the Forth to South Queensferry where we stopped for lunch at one of the village's hotels. After being fed and
watered we went to the Festival Theatre in the heart of Edinburgh to see a pantomime. Despite the snow
everyone had a great time and all arrived home safely if a little later than expected!!

 In November, over 30 young people from Benarty and Lochgelly attended the "Sounds Right" event at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. The event was organised by young Scots to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. |

Ten young people from Lochgelly High School took part in our Alternative Curriculum Project which is run in partnership with Fife Council's Community Learning & Development. The young people took part in a variety of different activities i.e. orienteering, teambuilding activities etc. The group also attended a three day residential experience in Edinburgh. The group are all trying to achieve a bronze youth achievement award.

TIBAL has a new Mini bus!! So far we have used the bus for our summer events, our alternative curriculum programme and for our youth clubs. |
